The Japan Tour Championship was today won by 34 year old Yoshitaka Takeya, who, in securing a two shot victory over Korean Sang Hee Lee, won his first Japan Tour title and a flagship event at that.

Takeya struggled to the finish today with bogeys at his final two holes but with eight birdies in his first 13 holes of round four he had done enough to secure the title from Lee who actually got within one of the lead before a triple bogey at the 11th cost him his chance.

Hideto Tanihara and Dong Kyu Jang tied for 3rd three shots behind Lee.

The leading Australasian was Scott Strange who finished 21st while Kurt Barnes was next best in 36th position with David Smail and Dimi Papadatos 44th.

The Japan Golf Tour will now have a one week break before the Nagashima Shigeo Invitational Sega Sammy Cup before another break of three weeks.
