27 year old Canadian, Rodger Sloan, won is first Web.Com Tour Open after a playoff with Derek Fathauer at the Nova Scotia Open north of Halifax in Nova Scotia.

Sloan is in his third Web.Com Tour season but has won events on the Canadian PGA Tour in the past. Although from Calgary Sloan’s win was effectively in front of home fans who roared their appreciation when he holed from 5 feet to win at the first extra hole after Sunday had already seen 36 holes played.

Day three of the event was postponed due to high winds caused by Cyclone Arthur.

Mathew Goggin and Alistair Presnell did best of the Australians in the field when they tied for 33rd in what was a disappointing week overall for the Australasian brigade.
