English golfing star Ian Poulter, known around the world for his flamboyant fashion sense, will wear four different Johnnie Walker-themed outfits when he swings into action at the Johnnie Walker Classic at The Vines Resort and Country Club this week.
Poulter will parade four different coloured outfits during the tournament all specially designed by his own private designer Lucia, with each one representing blends in the Johnnie Walker family – Red Label, Blue Label, Gold Label and Black Label.
Johnnie Walker Red Label is the world's largest selling Scotch whisky, found in more than 200 international markets and outselling its nearest rival by more than 10 million bottles per year. Johnnie Walker Blue Label, the most exceptional member of the Johnnie Walker blends, is a combination of very rare whiskies and very rare blending skills. Johnnie Walker Gold Label is 'The Centenary Blend', with each one matured for a minimum of 18 years. Johnnie Walker Black Label is the world's number one deluxe Scotch whisky blended from approximately 40 single malt and grain whiskies from the finest distilleries in Scotland.
The 29-year old Englishman is well known for his fashionable dress, multi-coloured sunglasses and often multi-coloured hair, and with a current world ranking of 59 he is also attracting considerable attention for his golfing game.
Ian made his Ryder Cup debut for Europe in 2004 winning his singles on the final day as his team stormed to victory. He followed up by winning the Volvo Masters at Valderrama beating Sergio Garcia in a sudden death playoff. Poulter has shown a real liking for match play action, in recent times making the semi-finals of the WGC-Accenture Match Play in 2005, and the quarter-finals in 2004. He has won at least one title in Europe each year between 2000 and 2004.
