Spain wins inaugural International Crown

Spain has won the inaugural staging of the International Crown, their team of Beatriz Recari, Belen Mozo, Carlota Ciganda and Azaharo Munoz finished four points clear of Sweden after a final day where the leading five teams played off in singles matches against each other.

Korea and Japan finished with ten points, one behind Sweden although Korea will finish 3rd due to a greater win ratio and Japan 4th with Thailand finishing last of the five teams who made the final day.

Two of the more fancied teams for the event, the USA and Australia were eliminated in the round robin series along with Taipei.
