Jarrod Lyle has staged a remarkable return to tournament golf with a share of 11th place at the Web.Com Tour’s Midwest Classic in Overland Park in Kansas.

Lyle was in or on the fringe of contention for most of the week following his impressive opening round of 67 and actually moved into 7th position today before a late bogey saw him finish 11th.

Lyle will not play this week’s Stonebrae Classic in California as he assesses the impact of his first tournament in five months and just his third in nearly two years but is expected to be back in action in Missouri in a week’s time.

The event was won by American Zack Sucher who finished three ahead of Aaron Watkins and assured himself of a PGA Tour card in 2015. Sucher will move inside the top five on the money list with his win and with the top 25 earning their way to the 2015 PGA Tour at season’s end he is a shoe in.

Aron Price finished as the leading Australian when he finished 6th this week.
