Victorian Su Hyun Oh has had a superb second day of the match play phase of the US Women’s Amateur Championship in Glen Cove in New York, winning her morning match over Pennsylvania’s Liz Breed by 4 & 3 then absolutely dominating her afternoon round of 16 match against the much touted Curtis Cup player, Emma Talley, by 9 & 8.

After both players had parred the first hole of the afternoon match, Oh then won the next nine holes to close the match out at the 11th.

Oh will now face 39th ranked qualifier, Texan Kristen Gillman, in tomorrow’s quarter final.

New Zealander Liv Cheng was beaten in a close fought match in this afternoon’s round of 16.
