BY Bruce Young | 10 Aug 2014

Bryden MacPherson and Stephen Dartnall have finished as the leading Australians at the PGA Tour’s China Tour Series event, the Yulongwan Yunnan Open in Kunming.

Both player tied for 7th in the event won by 21 year old Thailand golfer Gunn Charoenkul, a winner of four events on the Asean Tour but this victory now opens the door for status on the Web.Com Tour in 2015.

The leading five players at the end of the 12 event China Tour series earn the right to play the Web.Com Tour in 2015 and this victory in just his second event on this year’s tour moves Charoenkul to 7th on the Order of Merit.

Brett Drewitt remains as the leading Australian on the OOM in second position behind Xin Jun Zhang with David MacKenzie 5th and Stephen Dartnall 7th.

The next event in the series is not until the first week of September, the Chatea Junling Penda Open.
