Japan Tour back in action at KBC Augusta

The Japan Tour swings back into action as their 2014 schedule heats up this week with the playing of the RZ Everlasting KBC Augusta tournament at the Keya Golf Club in Fukuoka in the very north of the southern island of Kyushu.

The tournament has traditionally started the second half of the season in Japan during which many of the flagship events are played including the Japan Open, the Visa Taiheiyo, the Dunlop Phoenix and the Casio World Open.

The tournament has been played on a regular basis at the Keya Golf Club since 1992, the last winner being Korean Sung Joon Park who defeated his fellow countryman Jun-Gon Hwang by one shot last year.

Australasians in this week’s field are Brendan Jones, Brad Kennedy, Kurt Barnes, Dimitrios Papadatos, Adam Bland, Michael Hendry, David Smail, Stephen Leaney, Scott Strange and former winner of the event Steve Conran.
