Carriedo wins by a stroke

IN: News | Ladies European | Tenerife Ladies Open (2002) | Wrap | by Bruce Young | 06 May 2002

Last season's number one in Europe, the Spaniard Raquel Carriedo, won this event by a shot from Johanna Head. Sounds simple enough but clearly the conditions were horrendous, as the scores would suggest.

Carriedos' winning score was 4 over to win from Head, who had the best round of the tournament to close within a shot, with Germany's Elizabeth Esterl and France's Marine Monnet in third.
New Zealander Lynette Brooky had her best finish in quite some time finishing fifth, Cherie Byrnes 6th, Karen Lunn 47th, Nadina Taylor and Jane Leary 59th.
