Nineteen-year-old Victorian amateur Marc Leishman fired a -5 (65) in difficult conditions to claim a share of the lead following the third round of the AUD$100,000 Victorian Open at Sorrento Golf Club.

Leishman moved from equal 3rd overnight into equal 1st place alongside Andrew Bonhomme at -10. The young amateur started well with birdies on the first four holes and another solid round tomorrow will give him a chance at becoming the second amateur to win the title in just three years.

Bonhomme, who at the age of 30 is more than 10 years older than his co-leader, began his round with four early birdies but fell off towards the end of his round with bogeys at 16 and 17 to post a -4 (68).

Co-overnight leader Adrian Percey fell out of contention after a disappointing round of 77 and closed the third round at -1 and in equal 12th.

New South Welshman Andre Stolz is four shots adrift of the leaders while Steve Collins and David Bransdon sit in equal fourth at -5. Bransdon carved up the course, posting an equal course record -9 (63), which was made all the more remarkable with the testing conditions.
