Congested leaderboard at SA PGA
IN: News | Von Nida | South Australian PGA Championship (2006) | Round Three | 04 May 2006
David Lutterus, David Diaz and Chris Gray head a congested leaderboard heading into the final round of the Cadbury Schweppes South Australian PGA Championship currently underway at Tanunda Pines Golf Club in the Barossa. The trio sits on 207 (-9) after 54 holes but need to watch their backs as eighteen players are within six shots of the lead.
Diaz is enjoying the best year of his career after holding the Victorian Open trophy aloft in January. Lutterus has earned a little over $6,000 in his career to be in 16 position on the Von Nida OOM and Gray has been pretty quiet in the past few years.
Fighting to become the first South Australian born Professions to win the title since 1998 are Lutterus, Bland and Johnson. Adrian Percey won the title in 1998 around the Thaxted Park layout. Percey was successful in making the cut this week but sits at 1 over par after his three rounds.
Johnson & Chris Gray today equalled the course record of 67, coincidentally the pair played together putting on a brilliant display of shot making.
Young South Australian amateur Peter Cooke leads the three remaining amateurs as they fight for the amateur honours.
