Abbott takes clubhouse lead at WA PGA

Victorian rookie Jon Abbott has produced another consistent performance to be the clubhouse leader after the completion of the day 2 morning field at The WA PGA.
The former Victorian state team representative is looking to make serious inroads up the Von Nida Tour money list this week with his best finish since his tour school debut a tie for 20th at the recent SA PGA.
The 24-year-old from the Mornington Peninsular will no doubt be in the last few pairings for the third round and is looking forward to the challenge of mixing it with his more favored rivals.
Overnight leader Adam Crawford had just commenced his second round as Abbott signed for his 7 under total.
The rest of the field has failed to put any pressure on Crawford who is seeking his maiden Tour victory.
With the greens picking up speed and a cool Easterly breeze sweeping in at around lunchtime the afternoon players will battle to make any serious progress.
Play is expected to conclude at 5:20 (WA time) and the cut anticipated at 3 or 4 over par.
