The National Australia Bank (NAB) has agreed to a sponsorship extension while also upgrading its role in the nab 2007 Victorian PGA Championship.

The tournament is being staged from January 25 – 28 next year at Sanctuary Lakes, a wonderful par-72 course designed by PGA Golfer of the Century Greg Norman.

“We have enjoyed an outstanding and valuable relationship as title sponsor of the Victorian PGA Championship,” said Geoff Greer – State General Manager of Business Banking (Victoria & Tasmania) at NAB.

“Extending our involvement for another year demonstrates our commitment to the event and the people of Melbourne’s western suburbs.”

Megan Pauwels, the acting Executive Officer for the PGA in Victoria, said NAB is an iconic Australian brand and welcomed their continuing involvement in Victorian professional golf.

“The Victorian PGA is delighted to have a commercial relationship with such a renowned institution as NAB as naming rights sponsor for this event,” she said.

The nab 2007 Victorian PGA Championship is part of the Von Nida Tour and consists of a schedule of 10 events, each with prize money of about $100,000.

Success on the VNT brings potentially great rewards.

For example, Nathan Green recently progressed to the USPGA Tour and enjoyed a wonderful rookie season banking in excess of US $1.5 million.

Other past winners of the Victorian PGA title include five-time British Open champion Peter Thomson and modern great Stuart Appleby.
