The leaderboard is jammed packed after a morning of low scores in the second round of the NSW Open Championship at Horizons Golf Resort, Salamander Bay.

West Australian Scott Strange and Queenslander Marcus Cain have joined overnight leader Terry Price at six under. Both players made the most of the perfect early morning conditions to race up the rankings.

Price and Jason Norris, who finished with a five under par 67 in the opening round, are likely to face a bigger challenge today, with gusting winds expected to spring up this afternoon.
A good crowd are on hand to take in the action at Horizons, hosting the NSW Open for the first time. The event has not been played since 1994.

Some of Australia’s finest golfers are bidding to join great names like Norman Von Nida, Greg Norman and Ian Baker-Finch as winners of the event.

A park-and-ride system has been set up for golf fans travelling to Horizons to watch the competition over the next three days. Visitors can park at the Gan Gan army camp off Nelson Bay Road and take a $2 shuttle bus to the course.

Entry for today is just $10, with children under 12 free. Entry for the final rounds on Saturday and Sunday is $15.
