Wilson continues winning form with victory in Japan

IN: News | Japan | Mizuno Open (2002) | Wrap | by Bruce Young | 01 Jul 2002

In just three short years American Dean Wilson has established himself as one of the most dominant players on the Japanese Tour and may well follow in the footsteps of Brian Watts and others who have used this tour as a stepping-stone to bigger and better things.

Wilson won this event, his seventh win on that tour in just his fourth season, by a shot from Kiyoshi Miyazato with four shots back to third placed Toru Tanigiuchi and Hajime Meshai. He now moves to number two on this season's money list with two wins and trails only Toru Taniguchi.

Australian Steve Conran was fifth, with Brendan Jones, Scott Laycock and New Zealander David Smail in 23rd place.
