Stage one of qualifying for next season’s USPGA Champions Tour, which we previously knew as the USPGA Seniors Tour, has been all but completed.

Unfortunately though those at the Lompoc course in California still have a few holes to complete their round tomorrow as a weather delay, then darkness, have resulted in their final round being incomplete. Amongst those there is Australian Brian Jones who is going well with just two holes to go tomorrow. Jones is at two under for the day and, as he was in sixth place heading into round four, his place in the finals looks assured.

In Orlando Queensland’s Mike Ferguson has made it through to the final stage, finishing tenth at a venue where the top sixteen got through.

Missing out narrowly at St Augustine in Florida were Australians Noel Ratcliffe and Neil Wall who both missed by two.
