Rick Kulacz has returned to the winners circle twice in as many months after claiming the NSW Open Championship in a playoff from Tony McFadyean. Kulacz’s game was flawless on the final day as he moved five places with a 65, to finish 10 under and level with professional fellow West Australian Tony McFadyean.

Rick Kulacz Interview

On Friday I caught up with Rick for a little chat. The interview was to do a profile after his win at the Federal Amateur. In response to my question “What do you want to achieve from playing the professional events, including the NSW Open and the Australian Open?”, Kulacz’s response was “I simply want to play well”.

Little did we then know that come Sunday afternoon, Rick would be holding the NSW Open Championship trophy with a grin to die for; then again that’s the nature of the game; anything is possible with a little bit of self belief.
