Aussies Paul Gow and Steve Allan have secured US PGA Tour cards for next year, after successfully graduating from US Tour school today, swelling the Australasian numbers to 23 who will have their cards in the US for 2007.
Gow rounded out the gruelling six-day event with a round of 73 to finish tied for eighth while Allan shot 71 to conclude his week tied for 29th, but compatriot Steven Bowditch has missed out after shooting a final round of 71 to finish equal-46th.
All three Australians were in the top-30 early on the final day, with the top-30 plus ties gaining their cards, but only two managed to hold on as Bowditch plummeted after a strong start.
Other Australians to miss out were Richard Swift, Matthew Jones and Jason Day while Nick Flanagan withdrew earlier in the week and Bradley Hughes was disqualified.
Gow, 36, finished 26th on the US secondary Nationwide Tour this year. Allan, who began his golf at Montuna Golf Club in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne before heading to Woodlands Golf Club, was a member of the US Tour from 2001-2005.
The 33-year-old won the Australian Open in 2002, his only other victory coming in the 1998 German Open.
Of those who do not finish in the top-30 in the Q-School, the next 50 earn exempt status on the Nationwide Tour, with the remainder of the 163-strong field earning conditional status on the Nationwide Tour.
