Burge leads Q-School Finals

New South Welshman Ben Burge holds a one shot lead from Ashley Hall after the first round of Australasian Tour Qualifying School today.

Burge, the 2000 NSW Matchplay Champion, fired a six under 66 at the Peninsula Country Golf Club on Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula today to be one shot ahead of Hall and two ahead of a group of three players including New Zealand’s Hamish Robertson and Australians Brendan Chant and Danny Vera.

The 33-year-old from Manly on Sydney’s Northern Beaches is one of 87 players competing for the top 35 places and ties to earn playing privileges on the Australasian Tour for 2007.
