Ashley Hall has continued his strong performance at the 2006 PGA Tour Qualifying School, and holds a four-shot buffer going into tomorrow’s final round at Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.
Hall compiled an even-par third round in warm conditions today to remain on 10-under, but his five-shot overnight lead was cut by one after an excellent 65 by amateur Simon Furneaux.
Furneaux, who opened with a 75 on Tuesday, has bounced back superbly with rounds of 70 to 65 to sit one shot clear of a consistent Henry Epstein. Epstein’s second-consecutive 70 has him at five-under and five shots off the lead.
Three players sit at four under, Brad Lamb, Tigh Van Leeuwen and Adam Porker, while Dean Kinney, Tom Davis and Paul Donahoo round out the top ten.
The top three players will tee off at 9:06am on Friday in their bid to secure a spot on the 2007 Australasian Tour.
The top 35 places and ties at the end of tomorrow’s rounds earn playing privileges on the Australasian Tour for 2007.
