Adam Scott confirmed to play Australian PGA

It has been confirmed that Australia’s number one talent, Adam Scott has entered the PGA Championship at Hyatt Regency Coolum 28 November – 2 December 2002.

Adam Scott, during this year’s European Tour won the Qatar Masters and the Scottish PGA Championship and is at this stage 9th on the Volvo Order of Merit and ranked 48th in the World.

“A player of Adam’s calibre is an enormous boost for the field of the PGA Championship. I am sure the fact that he is a local and grew up in this part of the world, can only increase the interest and crowd attendance for the tournament. There is no doubt that Adam is the most talented young player in Australia and we are delighted with his commitment to play the Australian PGA Championship.”, said Tony Roosenburg, President of SFX Sports Golf (Australia).

Adam Scott will now join Greg Norman, John Daly, Stuart Appleby Aaron Baddeley, Craig Parry and Peter Lonard as confirmed starters in the strongest field to assemble in Queensland for some time.

Tournament Director Phil Cutt, reports that course preparations are well on track and the event is generating ’great excitement’ amongst visitors to the Hyatt and the hotel staff.

“The public will be here in the thousands if ticket sales are anything to go by " Cutt said.
