American based Korean born, Ted Oh leads a star-studded field at the end of round one of the $US1 million TCL Classic in Dugguan in China.

Oh’s first round 67 has him holding a narrow one shot lead over a group of six, namely New Zealander Eddie Lee in his professional debut, Zaw Moe, Chung Joon, Thongchai Jaidee, Charlie Wi and Lee Westwood.

Oh gained his tour card at the beginning of 2001 and went on to become the rookie of the year last year but this year has been a different story. He is languishing in 94th place having played all fourteen events so this represents quite a turnaround.

Colin Montgomerie and John Daly are at two under with Paul McGinley at one under. New Zealander Michael Campbell opened with a one over 73.

The leading Australian is Dean Alaban at two under 70, Ian Edwards and David Gleeson sit at 72 with New Zealanders Michael Campbell and Richard Best posting 73’s.
