The cut looms at European Tour qualifying

IN: News | European Challenge | European Tour Q-School - Final Stage (2002) | by Bruce Young | 18 Nov 2002

With just one round to go before the first cut is made at the top seventy five players, all but three of the fourteen Australasians in the final European Tour Q-school will be looking for something special in tomorrow's fourth round, to ensure they are still in with a chance over the final thirty-six holes.

The event is led by thirty-year-old Englishman Philip Archer, a fringe player on the European and Challenge Tours in recent years and has also experienced some success on the Northern Region PGA circuit. He has a one shot lead over Spaniard Eduardo De La Riva.

Brett Rumford leads the Australasians in 10th place, Terry Price is 26th, Stephen Scahill 33rd, Marcus Fraser and Steve Bowditch 67th, Adam Crawford, Scott Gardiner and Daniel Gaunt 63rd, Lucas Parsons 80th, Ed Stedman 92nd, John Sutherland 117th, Brad Kennedy 141st, Gareth Padisson 149th and Elliot Boult 160th.

The cut comes after the fourth round, the top 75 and ties left to battle for the fully exempt 2003 European Tour cards available to the top 35 and ties at the completion of 108 holes.
