Dual major winner John Daly has confirmed he will be coming to Queensland for the Australian PGA Championship despite the death of his mother early this morning. His mother had been suffering from an illness for some time. Daly is currently in Asia and will be heading to Hyatt Coolum early next week.

When news of his mother's death broke today there was speculation that Daly would withdraw from the Australian PGA Championship. Daly, who was extremely close to his mother has confirmed through his manager Bud Martin that he will honour his commitment and play the PGA.

Naturally Daly is said to be upset and is being consoled by his wife and friends.
