The Oceanique WA PGA Championship at The Cut Golf Club, Port Bouvard in Western Australia is set for an exciting finish with South Australian Jason Norris heading into tomorrow’s final round with a one-stroke lead.
Norris who began the day two shots adrift of leader New South Welshman Aaron Townsend, fired a two-under 70, for a three-round total of nine-under.
Townsend, will be hot on the heels of Norris, after falling back into second place at eight-under for the tournament following his third round of one-over.
Victorian Cameron Percy remained in third position at five-under and will partner Norris and Townsend in tomorrow’s final group.
In the best form of his professional career, Norris will be out tomorrow to claim his maiden Von Nida Tour victory.
“The course sets up well for my game and I am pretty confident of my chances tomorrow.”
“Townsend and Percy are quality players so I will have to play my best golf in order to be in front come Sunday afternoon,” said Norris after his third round.
It looks a race in three, although challenges may come from the likes of West Australian Vernon Sexton-Finck and 2006 Victorian PGA Champion Steven Jeffress at one-under and Victorian Marc Leishman on even par.
Final round action begins at The Cut Golf Club from 9.10am with entry free, spectators are invited to come out and witness an exciting finish to this year’s championship.
