Scott, Appleby commit to Memorial

Stuart Appleby and Luke Donald will join World No. 3 Adam Scott as members of the 2007 Memorial Tournament field.
On strength of two top-10 finsihes in six events in 2007 and his fourth career victory at the season-ending TOUR Championship in 2006 Scott ranks No. 3 in the Official World Golf Ranking and No. 8 in FedEx Cup points. With more than US$1.7 million in earnings, he is ranked No. 9 on the PGA TOUR and World Money lists. Scott has been a member of two Presidents Cup teams (2003, 2005) and will be making his fourth appearance in the Memorial Tournament, which is scheduled for May 28-June 3. Among Scott’s career-best 10 top-10 finishes in 2006 was a tie for fourth at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
Appleby enjoyed a multi-win (2) 2006 season and finished the year eighth on the money list with US$3,470,457, both career-highs in his 11 years on the Tour. He has recorded two top-10 finishes so far in 2007 and ranks No. 18 in the world rankings and No. 29 in FedEx Cup points. Appleby is ranked No. 23 on the World Money List with more than US$1.08 million in earnings and has been a member of four Presidents Cup teams (1998, 2000, 2003, 2005).
Coming off a career 2006 season with 16 cuts made in 18 starts, Donald posted a career-best 10 top-10s with earnings topping US$3 million. The two-time Ryder Cup team member (2004, 2006) has recorded two PGA TOUR and two international victories in his career. With four top-10s in 2007, Donald currently ranks No. 11 in the world rankings and No. 19 in FedEx Cup points. He ranks No. 18 and No. 20, respectively, on the PGA TOUR and World Money lists with more than US$1.1 million. Donald will be making his fourth appearance at this year’s Memorial and his first since missing the cut in 2004.
