Marcus Fraser qualifies for US Open

With the results of the US Sectional Qualifying venues still be finalised, Australia has one further participant at the US Open with Marcus Fraser having made it through via qualifying at Walton Heath in Surrey, England, this morning.

Fraser, who finished 43rd at last week’s Celtic Manor Wales Open, gets his first chance to play at the US Open by finishing in a share of fourth place behind leading qualifier, Nick Dougherty.

52 players lined up for one of the nine places available from this particular venue.

Peter O’Malley and Richard Green were the two Australians to miss the cut while Matthew Millar withdrew from qualifying.
