Earlier in the day we reported on the success that Marcus Fraser had in gaining a start at the US Open via Sectional Qualifying at Walton Heath in England.
Fraser will be joined by four other Australians who have come through their respective qualifying at various venues across the United States today. They will join Adam Scott, Geoff Ogilvy, Stuart Appleby, Nick O’Hern, Rod Pampling, Robert Allenby and Aaron Baddeley at Oakmont next Thursday.
Mathew Goggin and Steve Elkington earned their right to play the second major of the year by picking up one of the 16 places available at their venue in Memphis, Nathan Green was the lone Australian to make it through in Columbus, Ohio, and Andrew Buckle made it through by finishing second in California.
