Adam Bland’s professional career gained another boost today when it was confirmed he has earned a start at next week’s Canadian Open at the Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ontario.
Bland, who won two early season Canadian Tour events and is currently ranked second on the 20007 Canadian Tour money list behind American Spencer Levin, is one of six players from the money list to gain automatic entry into the PGA Tour event.
Bland hails from South Australia and was the rookie of the year on the Von Nida Tour in 2005 before playing mini tour events in the US in 2006. An injury late last year curtailed his season on the Australasian Tour but on gaining his Canadian Tour card earlier this year he has gone from strength to strength.
This will be the second PGA Tour start for Bland, having made the field for last year’s Open Championship at Hoylake, eventually missing the cut.
