Srixon introduces Z-RW Driver

Srixon Sports has introduced the Z-RW driver, created by Srixon’s proprietary Digital Impact Technology. The 460cc titanium driver features a unique Starburst Power Face design with four different zones to control sidespin by optimizing the gear effect on shots struck in those specific zones. The result is a larger sweet spot on the clubhead that allows for more distance and control even on off-centre hits.

“The driver category today has been spotlighted by clubs promoting greater accuracy by maximizing MOI through head shapes and designs that are very unconventional,” said Richard Stamper, President, Srixon Sports. “We chose a different route. By using Srixon’s Digital Impact Technology, we were able to create a long and accurate driver that has all of the forgiveness benefits of today’s high MOI clubs but with a conventional shape that golfers prefer.”

“And with the Z-RW we have done exactly that. From its Starburst Power Face, to its unique four-zone face design and flow weighting system, the Z-RW proves that the science of distance and forgiveness doesn’t have to look otherworldly.”

The Z-RW features the new Starburst Power Face design. This advanced technology produces a more uniform clubface deformation at impact, which helps enlarge the sweet area making the Z-RW longer on purely struck shots as well as mis-hits. Additionally, the unique four-zone face design utilizes distinct bulge and roll specifications in four specific areas, rather than in a single specification across the entire clubface. Since the spin dynamics of contact vary, depending on where on the face the ball is struck, this design helps further optimize side spin control leading to straighter, longer tee shots.

The Z-RW clubhead features a multi-material combination of 6-4 forged titanium body with a forged SP-700HM face. The strength of the SP-700HM makes for a thinner and lighter clubface, which allows more weight to be redistributed to further lower the center of gravity. The Flow Weighting system features a distinct red curving projection on the sole of the clubhead which positions the center of gravity back toward the heel as the lofts increase. As slower swingers tend to favor higher lofted drivers, this system promotes more efficient squaring of the clubhead at impact for all golfer types.

Standard in the new Z-RW driver is the proprietary SV-3014 shaft from Fujikura. The shaft features a lower torque and stiffness profile from tip to butt, designed to deliver higher trajectory and lower spin.

The Z-RW driver is available in right-handed lofts of 8.5°, 9.5°, 10.5° and 11.5° and comes in regular and stiff flexes. Suggested retail price is US$425 per driver.
