Pettersen wins in Korea after play cancelled

Suzann Pettersen has today won her fourth tournament of the 2007 LPGA Tour season following the cancellation of the final round of the KOLON-Hana Bank Championship in Gyeongju in South Korea. Pettersen has also won one event on the Ladies European Tour.
Play was called for the final time at 12.15pm when high winds caused the Mauna Ocean and Golf Resort’s course to be unplayable in the eyes of those administering the event. Pettersen, who had led the event after her 36 hole total of 3 under had left her one ahead of local Eun-Hee Ji, did not have to fire a shot in anger on day three.
The world number one, Lorena Ochoa finished 12th and although Pettersen made ground on the leading money winner on the 2007 USLPGA Tour, the Mexican is still just under US$2 million dollars ahead of her nearest rival.
Seon Hwa Lee finished third one behind Eun-Hee.
Lindsey Wright and Rachel Hetherington were the best of the Australians in 31st place while Wendy Doolan finished 58th.
The LPGA Tour now moves to Thailand for this week’s Honda LPGA Thailand.
