Baddeley dazzles with birdie blitz at Mastercard

2003 USPGA Tour cardholder, Aaron Baddeley has fired nine birdies with a dazzling display of golf in the third round to leap up the leaderboard with a new course record -8 (64) at the $1.25 million MasterCard Masters at Huntingdale Golf Club.
Baddeley began the day at 6 after having only just made the cut following consecutive rounds of 75. Baddeley demolished his first nine holes with birdies coming at the 2nd, 3rd and 4th holes plus another four coming at the 7th through to the 11th with a lone bogey at the 5th, the only blemish in an otherwise remarkable round. Another two birdies at the 15th and 18th left him at -2 for the tournament and a share of fourth place.
Nathan Green birdied the 6th, 9th, 14th and 18th holes plus an eagle at the 10th gave him a round of-6 (66) and he finished the day at Even par and equal 10th.
Other players making a move in the third round include Stuart Appleby, who is -5 today after 13 holes and sits at -1 for the day. Fellow USPGA Tour player, Queenslander John Senden is at Even par after a round of -5 (67) while veteran Nick Faldo is -4 after 15 holes and at Even par for the tournament.
The last two groups of Peter Lonard, Gavin Coles, Steve Collins and Adam Scott are next to tee off.
