Australian Masters seeks new sponsor

The Australian Masters is seeking a new principal sponsor after MasterCard indicated it would end its association after six successful years.
Martin Jolly, IMG Senior Vice President, Managing Director Asia-Pacific commented: “MasterCard has been a terrific sponsor of the Australian Masters. We have enjoyed a very successful partnership and acknowledge their outstanding support.”
“2008 will mark the 30th anniversary of the Australian Masters and as the event owner, IMG looks forward to the future growth of the Masters and Australian golf.
“We are already engaged in a number of very positive discussions with interested parties both in Australia and overseas to secure a worthy replacement title sponsor for the 2008 Australian Masters.”
The 2007 Australian Masters attracted 458 hours of international television coverage beamed to over 380 million homes worldwide as world # 17, Aaron Baddeley, won his first gold jacket in a dramatic play-off with Sweden€™s, Daniel Chopra.
Within Australia over one million viewers sat glued to the coverage on the Seven Network and in addition to the spike in the television audience, ticket sales were up 15% with 43,500 spectators attending over the four days.
