Poor weather delays NSW Amateur
BY iseekgolf.com | Australian Mens Amateur Tour | 2008 New South Wales Amateur Championship | Round Two | 03 Feb 2008
Round two of the IMAGETEC 2008 NSW Amateur Championship and Sporte Leisure Champion of Champion has been hampered by heavy rainfalls at North Ryde and Pennant Hills Golf Club.
Disruptive rain has seen many hours of play lost with those players at Pennant Hills completing their rounds as night fell and those at North Ryde unable to complete all of their second rounds. As a result of the rain delays the format for the Championship has been amended.
Of the completed scores Rohan Blizard (NSW GC) leads by one stroke after moving to -12 for the tournament. Blizard shot four under par, 65 at North Ryde GC and will be hard to overtake in the quest for the NSW Medal.
One stroke behind Blizard is former NSW Junior Team member Tim Hart. Hart almost equaled Blizard’s course record effort from Saturday’s opening round in shooting a seven under par 64 around the Pennant Hills course. Hart had an opportunity on the last hole to equal the record but his birdie putt ran past the left of the hole.
The top 60 players plus ties after all rounds are completed at both venues will advance to the final 18 holes at Pennant Hills.
