Porter cruising at Moonah Classic

Sydney’s Ewan Porter has taken the outright lead halfway through the third round of the Moonah Classic at Moonah Links, with overnight co-leader & playing partner Wayne Perske falling five shots adrift.
Despite a bogey at the second, Porter recovered well with a birdie at the third followed by an eagle at the par five fourth, moving to eight under. He remains at 8 under at the turn, leaving the others in his wake.
At the start of the day Perske was equal with Porter but bogeys on the 3rd, 7th and 10th have seen him slip back to three under for the day and he is currently in a tie for second with Rick Kulacz and American Tee McCabe.
After heavy overnight rain, the players have been greeted by overcast skies on the third day of the tournament on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula and, while the wind that battered the field on Friday is yet to start blowing, it is expected to again reach gale-force strength.
