The Australian team of Adam Scott and Craig Parry failed to match their performance from round one, however, today’s -5 (67) was enough to take outright fourth place at -17. The pair fired five birdies in the foursomes format to close the day just two strokes from the Fijian team, who claimed the lead at the US$3 million EMC World Cup following a superb -10 (62).
Vijay Singh and Dinesh Chand make up the Fijian duo, who today, could do no wrong. Chand currently is a regular on the Japan Tour and is also a former caddy for Singh. The pair fired a scintillating -10 (62) to secure the outright lead at -19 from overnight leaders Canada (Mike Weir and Ian Leggett) and defending champions South Africa.
The tournament favourites, America (Phil Mickelson and David Toms) could only manage a -5 (67) but it was enough to move from 16th to 13th and they trail Fiji by seven strokes going into day three.
The New Zealand team of Michael Campbell and Craig Perks slipped from equal 16th to outright 23rd following a disappointing second round of 1 (73). They now sit thirteen strokes form the lead with two rounds to play.
