After 36 of 108 holes of the final stage of qualifying for the 2003 Australasian PGA Tour, the leaderboard is packed with New Zealanders.

Elliott Boult, who has battled away in Europe for the past few years, making just five cuts in twenty one starts this year, heads the event with a two round total of 136 or six under par. He leads by one from two further New Zealanders in Eddie Burgess and Carl Brooking who are at five under along with New South Welshman Ewan Porter.

Boult who played on a non exempt card in Europe this year, failed in his attempt to regain his card at the European Tour final stage just four weeks ago but is now very much on track to gain full playing rights for the Australasian Tour which he has not has for three years

West Australian and first round leader Dean Alaban, followed his opening 65 with a 75 today to be alone in fifth with another New Zealander Glyn Delany, New South Wales’ Richard Swift and Jason Ashcroft and American Michael Pearson in 6th.

The event is being played at the Peninsula Country Club south of Melbourne. The top forty-five and ties will gain cards for the 2003 Australasian Tour.
