IN: News | US PGA | US Masters (2008) | General | by Bruce Young | 07 Apr 2008
Steve Williams is the most successful caddie in the history of golf. Even before teaming up with arguably the game’s greatest ever player, Tiger Woods in 1999, he had been involved in numerous victories with a range of players including Greg Norman and Raymond Floyd.
Williams first caddied at The Masters in 1986 and was involved in four runner-up placings at Augusta National with Norman and Floyd before the first of three Masters victories he has shared with Tiger since 2001.
In this fascinating chat with Bruce Young recorded on the 4th April 2008 just prior to Williams leaving New Zealand for Augusta, Williams discusses some of his memories from The Masters, both good and bad, Tiger’s current form and some very interesting and revealing thoughts on the success of the relationship between him and Woods.
Always candid and forthright with his thoughts, Williams provides an interesting angle on the exciting week ahead.
