South Australia’s Stephanie Na continues to dominant the Srixon Australian Women’s Stroke Play Championship, part of the Australian Women’s Amateur, being played in Adeliade this week. She closed the day with a five-under 69 at the par 74 Glenelg Golf Club.
The 18-year-old, who was a semi-finalist at the 2007 Australian Amateur Championship, is eleven strokes clear of her nearest rival, Rebecca Flood, who sits in outright second place at -5.
Top amateurs Kristie Smith and Claire Choi both failed to fire today with Smith dropping to outright third place following a one-over 75. Choi, the current number one Australian amateur, slumped to equal 15th after backing up a 78 yesterday with a three-over 77 today.
The top 32 players following the 72 hole stroke play tournament will qualify for the Australian Amateur, a matchplay event which will be played at Royal Adelaide Golf Club in conjunction with the men from the 18th – 20th April.
