As is so often the case in golf, one day you’re a hero and the next day you miss the cut.
Royal Adelaide’s Stephanie Na, who won the Australian Women’s Amateur Strokeplay on Thursday has been bundled out of the 2008 Australian Amateur Championship this morning after falling victim to Victoria’s Stacey Keating 2&1.
Keating, 2006 Victorian Amateur champion, will meet England’s Kerry Smith in this afternoon’s quarter-final while Na’s next tournament will be the Trans-Tasman Cup in early May.
West Australians grabbed the final two places in the semi-finals after Kristie Smith overcame Ebony Heard, 2up and 2008 Australian Amateur Girls Champion, Whitney Hillier, defeated Justine Lee, 2&1.
With the superb conditions set to continue this afternoon, the scene is set for an exciting semi-final.
