Michael Foster will need to make his move early in the afternoon round at the Australian Amateur after finding himself 2-down to Norwegian Anders Kristiansen.
Kristiansen, the 2007 World Junior champion, had the perfect start after winning the first and fourth holes, to move to 2-up early, before Foster was able to secure his first win on the 6th with a birdie.
A birdie on the 8th enabled 17-year-old Kristiansen to move back to a two hole margin, which he kept until Foster won the 14th after Kristiansen bogeyed, to remain a hole behind.
Kristiansen recovered on the 464 metre 15th, which has presented all week as one of the birdie hole opportunities at Royal Adelaide, nailing his second shot 3-iron to centre of the green, to claim the hole with his third birdie of the morning round.
Regulation pars from both players on the last two morning holes retained the two hole advantage for Kristiansen, moving into the afternoon of the 36-hole match play contest.
