IN: News | Queensland Mens | Queensland Medal (2008) | Round Three | 02 May 2008
Brett Rankin (Pacific) has extended his overnight lead to three shots as he heads into the final round of the 2008 Queensland Medal at Nudgee Golf Club this afternoon. Rankin fired another quality round of 67 (-4) in perfect conditions to lead Gavin Fairfax (Pacific), who managed a round of 68 (-3) this morning.
Rankin should be pleased with his performance this morning and continued his bogey free run which is now 53 holes. Rankin bogeyed the first hole of the Championship but since then has managed to keep his scorecard blemish free.
Keeping in touch with a round of 68 (-3) was Ray Beaufils (Surfers Paradise), who is in third place at 206 (-7).
Peter Hall fired the morning’s best round of 66 (-5) to move into 4th place at 207 (-6).
The top 16 mark, which will qualify the players for the Queensland Amateur Championship next week, remained at 212 (-1).
