Smith eyes off Karrie Webb title in WA
IN: News | Australian Ladies Amateur | West Australian Women's 72 Hole Stroke Play (2008) | Preview | 04 May 2008
Just days after helping her country to a second successive Trans Tasman Cup win, Kristie Smith is back at home in Perth to contest the WA Women’s 72-Hole Stroke Play Championship at Lake Karrinyup Country Club.
She joins a stellar field that also includes six of her National Squad team mates including Stacey Keating who was victorious at last week’s Queensland Women’s Stroke Play Championship.
The Victorian will be hoping to keep her hot form rolling as she continues to apply pressure to the leaders of the Karrie Webb Series. This is the penultimate event of the inaugural Series before a finale at Concord Golf Club, New South Wales later this month.
Smith and Stephanie Na currently lead the Series, but Keating and Clare Choi will be looking to make a late charge beginning with a win this week in Perth.
