Aussies Rice, Tasker gain Canadian cards

Australians Clint Rice and Mitchell Tasker will join the Canadian Tour for the remainder of the year as a result of their success at the recent Spring Qualifying School at the Swan-e-set Bay Golf Resort in Pitt Meadows in Vancouver.

Tasmania’s Clint Rice led the qualifiers after rounds of 71, 69, 71 and 71 to be at 6 under and to win the Q-School by one while New South Welshman, Tasker, finished 5th at even par.

They were two of only seven players, who gained fully exempt status for the remaining 12 events on the Canadian Tour schedule in 2008, starting next week in British Columbia.

Five events have already been played on this year’s schedule, all of those in either California or Mexico. Australian Adam Bland currently sits in second position on the 2008 money list behind American John Ellis.
