Suzuki, Na in QLD Girls Amateur Final

Leading qualifier Saki Suzuki (Lakelands) continued to display quality golf playing her way into the 2008 Queensland Girls’ Amateur Championship Final with Ellie Na. Suzuki accounted for Beaudesert’s Jaimee Dougan 3 & 2 this morning and Jessica Park (Oxley) 5 & 4 in the afternoon to reach the final.

Suzuki is up against 2008 Queensland Women’s Amateur Champion 14 year old Ellie Na (Royal Pines) who played magnificent golf to down Ellen Davies-Graham (North Lakes) 6 & 5 this morning and Queensland Women’s State Team member Jacki Marshall (Pacific) 4 & 2 this afternoon.

Emily McLennan (Hills International) and Annie Choi (Gainsborough Greens) will battle it out in the final of the Championship Flight tomorrow – a division for players defeated in the first round of the Championship.

Both Ellesha Michie (Emerald Lakes) and Jade Vellacott (Oxley) won their matches this morning in the second flight to face off against each other in the final tomorrow morning. The second flight is for players qualifying in 9th to 12th position.

Lauren Mason (Horton Park) upset local Indooroopilly member Alison Lee winning 3 & 2 to secure a place in the final of the Under 14 flight. Mason will play Stephanie Wilson (Royal Queensland), who accounted for Jung Min Cha (Emerald Lakes) 6 & 5.

The four finals matches will commence tomorrow morning at 7:08 with all matches being played over 18 holes except for the Girls’ Amateur Championship, which will be played over 36 holes.
