Queenslander Katherine Hull’s good form in recent weeks looks set to continue at this week’s Samsung World Championship in California. At the completion of today’s third round of the event restricted to 20 of the world’s elite female golfers, Hull is in a share of third position and just two shots behind the leader, Paula Creamer.
Hull, who won in Canada in August, then finished 4th in Oregon and Mobile and 11th at the Navistar in Prattville, is in the best form of her golfing career. She has 2008 earnings of US$774,000, more than US$200,000 above the total earnings of her first four seasons on the LPGA Tour.
Hull shares third with the defending champion, Lorena Ochoa and Song-Hee Kim, that trio separated from the leader by Angela Stanford.
The only other Australian in the field is Karrie Webb who has struggled for much of the week and is in 18th position heading into tomorrow’s final round.
