Scotland has built upon its second round share of the lead to move to 21-under and will take a four stroke lead over the USA moving into the final day of the Eisenhower Trophy in Adelaide.
With a 3 under par 69 from Wallace Booth and a 1 under 71 from Gavin Dear, Scotland is set to win it’s first Eisenhower Trophy since breaking away from the Great Britain and Ireland team in 2002. Scotland’s previous best finish was 6th at the last World Amateur in South Africa in 2006.

“We have a short history in the Eisenhower Trophy,” Scottish captain George Crawford said.
“It’s a small nation with five million people so it would be a great achievement. But I don’t want to talk about victory because a round of golf is a huge thing. Anything can happen in one round of golf and Royal Adelaide is sure to be a challenge for all teams tomorrow.”
The USA team had a rather flat third round and was unable to move from its overnight 17 under par position.
“The day was tough,” USA captain Walter Driver said.
“The guys tried hard but did not do as well as the other day. But tomorrow is another day. And, in this format, anything can happen as we’ve seen today.”
The lowest individual round for the day was a 5 under par 67 from Victor Dubuisson of France
World number one, Danny Lee lead the New Zealand team and at one stage was at 5-under through thirteen holes until eventually dropping back to 2 under for the day. New Zealand is in 4th position, two behind Sweden.
Australia was again lead by Matthew Griffin, who fired a 2 under 70 and moved from T15th position in the singles format to be in T7th. Rohan Blizard contributed to the Australian tally with a 1 under par, whilst Tim Stewart had a 5 over par 77. Australia is currently in 5th position for the Championship.
The final round will be played at Royal Adelaide.
