The field for next week’s Daikin Night Shootout at Emerald Lakes Golf Club is taking shape and judging by those players already confirmed it could well be the best ever.
The event, to be played on the evening of Thursday November 6th, includes some of Australia’s greatest ever golfers, fighting it out for the $15,000 purse of which $6,000 will go to the winner. Many of those same players will be competing in the inaugural Greater Building Society Australian Masters Invitational from November 6th to 8th, the Night Shootout being staged on the night of the opening day of that event.
Played under Emerald Lakes’ outstanding lighting system and over 9 holes, the Daikin Night Shootout line-up includes Ian Baker-Finch, Graham Marsh, Rodger Davis, Terry Price, Mike Harwood, Brian Jones, Terry Gale, Ossie Moore, Mike Fergusson and West Australian lady golfer, Shani Waugh.
The four holes closest to the clubhouse at Emerald Lakes will be used in rotation with one player per hole being eliminated before the winner is decided between the two players who make it to the final hole of the evening.
Last year, when the event was played in conjunction with the Greater Building Society’s Queensland PGA Championship, Lucas Parsons edged out the brilliant teenager Amy Yang with a birdie at the final hole to cap off an outstanding night in front of an estimated 800 people.
Play gets underway at promptly at 6.30pm although spectators are advised to be there from 6.00pm onwards. Spectators at the Daikin Night Shootout will be admitted free of charge.
