Long maintains control at The Cut

A third round three-under 69 has kept Perth based New Zealander Michael Long in control of the 2008 Oceanique WA PGA Championship at The Cut Golf Club, Port Bouvard, Western Australia.
Long sits on top of the leaderboard after 54 holes at ten-under, six ahead of his nearest rival Victorian Peter Wilson (73,69,70).
New South Welshman Leigh McKechnie put himself into contention for the title heading into the final round tomorrow with a course record, eight-under 64.
Beginning the day at five-over, McKechnie produced a flawless display producing birdies on 1, 3, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 18 and move to three-under and outright third.
Defending champion South Australian Jason Norris slid out of contetion following a disappointing day signing for a five-over, 77 to be ten back.
The final round gets underway from 9.00am local time with the final group which consists of Long, Wilson and McKechnie set to tee-off at 10.30am.
