Nike breathes life into new CPR clubs

A do-or-die chip over the lake. A narrow opening from the woods. A tight fairway surrounded by heavy rough. Some shots offer more excitement than you bargained for. Fortunately, Nike Golf will introduce CPR: Clubs for Prevention and Recovery, lending hope to heart-stopping situations by making tough shots play easy.
Nike Golf will introduce three sets of hybrid clubs, available in the US on May 1, 2003, to give players an advantage when less-than-promising situations present themselves.
The CPR Iron-Wood (SRP: US$155 per club), available in lofts of 18-degrees, 21-degrees and 24-degrees, is designed for the tee, the rough, or a tight fairway lie. The Iron-Woods compact head design places weight low and right behind the ball to make it easier to hit than traditional long irons. The compact head is designed for players who prefer a low profile, mid-size club head. The shaft length is longer than the CPR Wood for more distance.
The CPR Wood (SRP: US$155), available in lofts of 22-degrees, 26-degrees and 30-degrees, is great for deep rough, a fairway bunker or a tight fairway lie. The unique scoop back design of the CPR Wood places the center of gravity lower and farther back than traditional long irons. The large head is designed for players who prefer a deep profile, large-size club head. The shaft length is shorter than standard fairway woods for accuracy and control.
The CPR Wedge (SRP: US$106), available in lofts of 52-degrees, 56-degrees, and 60-degrees, is designed for the sand, the deep rough and tight fairway lies. The sole of the CPR Wedge has two levels – rock the club head back to use the maximum width of the sole for sand shots and deep rough, or rock the club head forward to be on the higher plane of the face for tight lies.
The CPR Wedge is available with the CPR Steel Shaft, for great feel and precise shotmaking. The CPR Wood and Iron-Wood comes with a CPR Graphite Shaft, a lightweight, but strong shaft designed to resist twisting when hitting out of difficult lies.
